Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-11

Who we are

Serhat Gökçe, operating as Yarnbie ("we", "us", and "our"), is the person legally responsible for the Yarnbie mobile application and yarnbie.com (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the Services. Our contact email for privacy questions and requests is support@yarnbie.com.

Legal address: OĞUZLAR MAH. 1397 CAD. 11 UFUK ÖE.Ö.YUR. NO: 11 İÇ KAPI NO: 1 ÇANKAYA/ ANKARA, Türkiye.

This policy covers account management, AI-assisted crochet and knitting features, saved analyses and patterns, community features, purchases, and support. The information processed depends on the features you use.

This policy applies to everyone who uses the Services on or after the effective date above, regardless of when their account was created, and it replaces all earlier versions. From the effective date it also describes how we handle information that was collected earlier and is still held in the Services. If you do not want your information handled as described here, you can stop using the Services and request deletion of your account as explained below.

Information we collect

Account and profile information: account identifiers, sign-in provider information, email address, name, username, profile image, and other profile details you provide. A sign-in provider may supply information according to your settings with that provider.

Content: photos, text prompts, AI chat messages and relevant conversation history, generated analyses and patterns, saved projects, community posts, comments, and messages. Uploaded images can contain personal information, including names and image metadata.

Usage and technical information: IP address, device and operating system information, app version, language, approximate country or region derived from technical information, feature interactions, timestamps, diagnostic information, and notification tokens. Product analytics can include account identifiers and AI chat questions; analytics are not necessarily anonymous.

Purchase and support information: subscription status, product and transaction identifiers, purchase events, support correspondence, and complaint details. Payment providers process payment credentials; we receive the information needed to manage purchases and access to paid features.

Copyright reports: the reporter’s first name, last name, email address, description of the concern, and identifiers of the reported analysis or post, together with relevant account information and submission time.

Acceptance and confirmation records: when you accept our Terms and this Privacy Policy through the Services, we record on your account the version accepted, the time, the platform, the app version, and the language, and we keep earlier acceptances when a new version is accepted. When you confirm an upload for AI analysis, we record the version of the confirmation and the time together with the generated result.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, deliver requested AI features, save and display results, operate community and messaging features, manage subscriptions, send service notifications, provide support, and investigate copyright and safety reports.

We also use technical and usage information to understand feature use, diagnose problems, prevent fraud and abuse, secure the Services, and measure advertising and purchases.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, the relevant basis depends on the activity: performing our agreement with you for requested services; legitimate interests in security, service operation, and improvement where those interests do not override your rights; compliance with legal obligations; or consent where required, including applicable AI-sharing and advertising permissions. Accepting our Terms is not a substitute for a separate consent required by law.

Review of retained content and service integrity

Where necessary and lawful, authorized personnel and service providers acting for these purposes may examine retained uploads, generated outputs, library items, community content, and relevant account or technical records to investigate copyright complaints, detect abuse or security risks, correct service errors, and comply with legal obligations. Reviews may be initiated by a report or by Yarnbie and may include information collected before this policy’s effective date. Access and the information examined are limited to what is relevant and proportionate to the review.

We assess the lawful basis and compatibility of a proposed review with the purposes for which information was collected, taking account of the sensitivity of private content and users’ reasonable expectations. Depending on the circumstances, the basis may be compliance with law or legitimate interests in protecting the Services and the rights of others, subject to applicable safeguards and your rights. We provide additional information or obtain fresh consent before a new use where required. The effective date is not retroactive consent, and a general service-improvement purpose does not authorize unrestricted reuse of private content or model training.

A review may result in content restrictions, removal, or account action under our Terms. Relevant complaint records, evidence, and action records may be retained for the period necessary to resolve the matter, comply with applicable preservation requirements, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Access is restricted for those purposes, and records are deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed, subject to applicable obligations. You may contact us to raise a mistake, request review, or exercise applicable privacy rights.

AI processing and Google Gemini

Yarnbie uses Google’s Gemini API as a third-party AI service. When you request an AI analysis, pattern, idea, or chat response, the relevant photo, prompt, message, and any conversation history or pattern context needed for that request are transmitted to Google for processing. The resulting response is returned to Yarnbie and may be saved with your account.

Where an AI-sharing permission prompt is presented, you can allow or decline the transfer. Declining prevents the requested AI operation from proceeding. Permission to process an input does not give you rights to upload someone else’s material. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information, confidential documents, or information you are not authorized to share.

Google’s handling of API inputs and outputs depends on the applicable Gemini API terms and service configuration. Retention, safety review, and use for service improvement can differ between paid and unpaid services. We do not promise that Google immediately deletes all inputs or that every API configuration excludes model improvement. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms below.

You can stop future AI submissions by not using AI features and contact us about withdrawing permission or deleting existing information. Withdrawing permission does not undo processing that already occurred.

Read our Terms & Conditions for content permissions and AI limitations.

Service providers and other disclosures

We use service providers for cloud hosting, file storage and delivery, account authentication, notifications, product analytics, subscription management, payment processing, and advertising measurement. These providers process relevant account, content, technical, usage, or transaction information for the purposes described in this policy. Google Gemini processes AI inputs and responses as explained above. You can contact us for further information about recipients of your personal information.

Generated analysis instructions are stored in your personal library and are not published through a community sharing feature. Community posts are separate submissions. Content you publish in community features, together with associated public profile information, can be viewed by other people and may be copied or shared by them. Direct messages are made available to their recipients. Do not publish information you intend to keep private.

We may disclose relevant information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, infringement, or risks to people. In handling a complaint, we may share relevant allegations or contact details with the affected party, advisers, or authorities when necessary to resolve the matter or comply with law; complaint details are not automatically made public.

If the Services undergo a business transfer, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The website uses cookies and similar browser storage for service functionality and measurement. Meta and Google technologies help measure campaigns and purchases and support relevant advertising. Campaign identifiers from incoming links may be stored in your browser for up to 90 days. Purchase events may also be sent from our servers.

Mobile analytics and advertising measurement may process device or account identifiers and app events. You can manage available permissions in your device settings, browser settings, and provider advertising settings. Browser cookie controls do not necessarily stop server-side measurement, and uninstalling the app does not erase information already stored. Where consent is legally required, that requirement applies separately from agreement to these policies.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information, saved results, and associated content for the purposes described here while your account or the relevant feature remains in use, and as needed to handle deletion requests, disputes, security incidents, or legal obligations. Retention depends on the information’s purpose, account status, legal requirements, and the time reasonably needed to resolve a pending matter.

Uploaded source files and generated results are different records. Removing a source file does not remove text or information already included in an analysis, logs, or a provider’s records. When a feature is discontinued, content collected through it is removed from active systems, except for limited records retained for the purposes described in this section.

You can request account deletion through the available account settings or contact support@yarnbie.com. If your request concerns a particular upload, analysis, or post, identify it so we can locate the relevant records and stored files. Deletion from active systems, file storage, backups, and third-party systems may follow different processes and is not necessarily immediate. Limited records may remain where required by law or necessary to address a dispute, prevent abuse, or establish legal claims. Information retained for those purposes should not be used for unrelated purposes.

Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by an app store or payment provider.

Security and international processing

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information and limit access. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence, whose privacy laws may differ. International transfers are subject to the protections required by applicable law. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Your Consent

This policy explains our processing practices; using the Services does not by itself constitute consent to every processing activity or to future changes. Where consent is required, we request a specific affirmative choice before the relevant processing. Agreement to our Terms does not replace that choice.

In the mobile Application and on the website, an affirmative AI-sharing choice is recorded on your device or in your browser for the signed-in account, together with the consent version and acceptance time. For photo uploads, the confirmation box is empty until you tick it; while a valid record remains available, it is shown already ticked on later uploads of the same kind and you can untick it at any time. For AI chat and similar features, we do not ask again before each request covered by a recorded choice. A different account, device, or browser, removal of the local record, or a material change to the provider, data categories, purpose, or confirmation text may require a new choice. Declining, unticking the box, or closing the permission dialog does not authorize the AI request. Each confirmed upload is also recorded on our servers as described under “Acceptance and confirmation records”.

You can decline optional processing and contact us to withdraw consent or obtain help with your privacy choices. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before it. Where a change requires fresh consent, we will obtain it before applying that change; publishing an amended policy alone is not that consent.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a competent data protection authority. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions and are not identical in every country.

Send requests to support@yarnbie.com using the email associated with your account where possible. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or authority and locate the data. We will handle requests within the time limits required by applicable law. You can also manage available notification, photo, camera, and other permissions in your device settings.

Age requirements

The Services are intended for adults aged 18 or older, including because of the requirements applicable to our AI provider. They are not directed to children. If you believe a person below this age has provided personal information, contact support@yarnbie.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Governing law and disputes

This Privacy Policy, and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to it, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts and enforcement offices of Ankara, Türkiye have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute or claim.

This choice of law and courts does not deprive you of a mandatory protection, or of access to a court, regulator, data protection authority, or consumer dispute process, that applicable law grants you and that cannot be waived by agreement.

Changes and contact

We may revise this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date and applies to all users, including existing users, from that date. Publication on this page is how we inform you of a change; we are not required to notify each user individually. Where we consider it appropriate, or where applicable law requires consent for a change, we will ask users to confirm it through the Services. Where we do not ask for such confirmation, the version published on this page applies. A policy update does not retroactively authorize a new use of information that requires consent.

For privacy questions, data requests, or concerns, contact Yarnbie at support@yarnbie.com.
